Day 1NAIROBI – Arrival

Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta Airport met and assisted by our representative. Transfer to your Nairobi hotel. Afternoon visit to the Nairobi national Museum just next to Nairobi river for your first count of Kenyan birds.Holubs Golden Weaver. Thrush, the black Kite, and Northern pied Babbler and many more different bird species. Meals and overnight at your City hotel.

Day 2NAIROBI – NARO MORU

 

Early morning breakfast and pick- up for your trip heading to the north with a stop at the seasonal Karatina swamp covered with water hyacinth and reeds. You will have a view of the Sacreds and adadas ibis, African paradise flycatchers, African Jacana on the wide hyacinth leaves, white-faced whistling Duck, and many more species.

Proceed to Naromoru river lodge arriving for lunch and check-in at the cottages facing the gentle flowing Naromoru river a bird’s paradise.

Afternoon will be a walk along the river for a such of the resident birds including the Sunbirds, Giant kingfisher,Chinspot Batis,African green pigeon etc.

Day 3NARO MORU - SAMBURU

Early morning Walk with backyard swooping, chirping and singing bird calls and songs .Return to the camp for breakfast then checkout and drive north via Nanyuki and Mt Kenya to the Samburu National Reserve with a unique landscapes and  open savannahs, scrub desert and vegetation which makes it almost guaranteed encounter with  top 380+ bird species. A home for all. Arrive in time for lunch and check-in.

Afternoon gave drive to meeting the Shining Sunbird, Verreaux’s Eagle, Golden-breasted Starling, Eastern Yellow- billed Hornbill, Von der Decken’s Hornbill, Black-faced Sand grouse, Chestnut-bellied Sandgrouse, Golden-breasted Starling, Abyssinian Scimitarbill, Rosy-patched Bushshrike, Pringle’s Puffback, Northern Puffback, Northern White-crowned Shrike, White-headed Mousebird, Hunter’s Sunbird, Black-bellied Sunbird, Shining Sunbird, Red-billed Hornbill, countless.

Day 4SAMBURU NATIONAL PARK

 

Early morning game drive along Ewaso Nyiro river banks to view different early bird species.Return to the camp for breakfast.

Whole day spend in search for birds including the Fire-fronted Bishop, Buff-crested Bustard, African Bare-eyed Thrush, Somali Sparrow, Donaldson-Smith’s Nightjar, Dusky Nightjar, Vulturine Guineafowl, Rufous Chatterer, African Mourning Dove, European Turtle Dove, Egyptian Vulture, Bateleur, Martial Eagle and Tawny Eagle.

Day 5SAMBURU – MT KENYA

After early morning breakfast, leave your lodge and proceed Mount Kenya for the lovers of the highland species like the Pin-tailed whydas, Hartlaub’s Turacos and Olive.

Arrive At the mountain lodge for lunch and check-in. Afternoon will be a walk in the mountain forest in search for the Eastern Bronze-naped pegion, crowned canary, Scaly Francolin, Pternistis squamous count them.

Meals and overnight at the camp.

Day 6MT KENYA - NAKURU

Morning Breakfast and checkout. Drive to lake Nakuru which is famous for the hundreds of greater and lesser flamingoes that literally paint the lake Pink; other notable species including the great white and pink-backed pelicans and stilt. Lunch will be at your town hotel.

Afternoon visit to the lake Nakuru National park with plenty of birds including, storks, ibises, Terns, white-browned coucal in the wooded acacias arrow-marked babbler and the trogon.

Late evening exit the park and return to your town hotel.

Day 7NAKURU – BARINGO – NAKURU

Early morning Breakfast. Drive with lunch boxes to lake Baringo a fresh water lake with dry climate and with over 400 species of birds.

You will have time to walk around the Scrubland and cliffs surrounding the lake and enjoy a boat ride in search for the water birds.

Afternoon drive south to Lake Bogoria National Reserve with Lake Bogoria a volcanic soda lake, where the hot springs are a local attraction. it’s also an attraction to birdlife found in huge quantities, especially the Lesser Flamingos,

Other birds include the Hunters and the violet- backed with the nightjars common in the lake shores.

Late evening return to lake Nakuru for your dinner and overnight.

Day 8NAKURU –KAKAMEGA

Arrive and checkin. Late afternoon spend on bird viewing including the black- and-white casqued Hornbill, red headed bluebill, mackinnons shrike and many more.
