Early morning breakfast and pick- up for your trip heading to the north with a stop at the seasonal Karatina swamp covered with water hyacinth and reeds. You will have a view of the Sacreds and adadas ibis, African paradise flycatchers, African Jacana on the wide hyacinth leaves, white-faced whistling Duck, and many more species. Proceed to Naromoru river lodge arriving for lunch and check-in at the cottages facing the gentle flowing Naromoru river a bird’s paradise. Drive to lake Nakuru which is famous for the hundreds of greater and lesser flamingoes that literally paint the lake Pink; other notable species including the great white and pink-backed pelicans and stilt. Lunch will be at your town hotel. Afternoon visit to the lake Nakuru National park with plenty of birds including, storks, ibises, Terns, white-browned coucal in the wooded acacias arrow-marked babbler and the trogon. You will have time to walk around the Scrubland and cliffs surrounding the lake and enjoy a boat ride in search for the water birds. Afternoon drive south to Lake Bogoria National Reserve with Lake Bogoria a volcanic soda lake, where the hot springs are a local attraction. it’s also an attraction to birdlife found in huge quantities, especially the Lesser Flamingos, Other birds include the Hunters and the violet- backed with the nightjars common in the lake shores. Late evening return to lake Nakuru for your dinner and overnight. |
